Headcollar Dog
dog section: how did/does?

How did you train your dog(s) how to walk well on a leash?
What type of collar do you use (include harnesses and headcollars etc…)

And if you own more than 1 dog…how do they walk?
In front of you
On either side
On the same side?
Do they pull when you see something that they are interested in?
Do they pull at all?

List any tips that someone may use in walking their dogs

My girls have just started being able to walk together

For the longest time I had to walk them seperatley.
We used to have a coupler
But they saw a dog they were interested and 200 lbs of dog were dragging me
So I decided to train them on their own

And now we can all walk together!!

Meri uses a prong collar and Bella a headcollar

I have difficulties walking all seven of them at once (they outweigh me by at LEAST 150 pounds), so I have to walk them with someone else or in shifts.

Max, Nova and Israel are all in regular collars and haltis, this is for their comfort and my safety (they’re the heaviest, thats like 210 pounds on my arm!). Max heels at my left and Nova and Israel both heel at my right.

Roxy is on a harness because she will slip out of anything we put her in. Sparky, Lilly and Copper are all in regular collars with regular leashes. Roxy, Sparky and Copper are all heeling to the right and Lilly is tripping all four of us in his attempt to smell, pee on, and see everything.

For collars, everyone but Lilly has a ‘snap’ collar (the kind that lock like >< that). Lilly has a buckle collar.

It took me forever to set up a system that we could all enjoy without me getting some type of trauma if someone got turned around or wrapped on my leg! I love haltis more than anything for large dogs who like to pull (especially if you're walking more than one), and the heel command is my best friend.
